This course provides students with the mid-level technical knowledge needed to understand the world of supply chain logistics and related core competencies. Learning materials include PDF textbook and e-learning modules.
The Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) provides the training of personnel as Certified Logistics Associates (CLA) and Certified Logistics Technicians (CLT).
The purpose of the CLT certification program is to recognize, through credentials, individuals who demonstrate mastery of the core competencies of front-line material handling. The CLT certification program raises the level of performance of logistics technicians and helps employers ensure increased productivity, competitiveness, and standardization.
The CLT Program consists of two-parts:
- Foundational level Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) Certification
- Mid-level Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) Certification
To achieve the CLT certification, an individual must complete both CLA and CLT.
In the CLT course, students who are CLA Certified will learn about the world of supply chain, product receiving, storage, order processing, packaging and shipment, inventory control and the safe handling of hazardous materials. Like CLA, CLT has one 8-hour classroom introductory training session. Students must then complete 35 hours of on-line instruction. The students then return to the classroom for a
6-hour review including test preparation. This is immediately followed by the 2-hour certification test.
