Improved Communication in American English for the Workplace is an intermediate level interactive course focused on listening and speaking, with limited reading and writing as required for workplace needs. Building upon the existing knowledge of English of the students, the result of this course is to improve the participants’ ability to understand and be understood when communicating in English. Companies benefit from the improvement in the quality and accuracy of interpersonal communication as employees become more comfortable and clearer when speaking English at work. Employers can anticipate a substantial increase in productivity, clarity of communication, and morale with fewer errors and disputes caused by miscommunication or lack of understanding. Interactive activities and lessons focus on common scenarios and expectations of the typical manufacturing workplace. Reduction in errors and increase of employee effectiveness has direct impact on the bottom line.
