O’Sheas Printing Service, located in Hackensack, New Jersey was founded in 1972, employs 9 people and has approximately 1 million dollars in annual sales. O’Sheas is a commercial printer.
The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, Inc. (NJMEP) contacted O’Sheas to assist them in confirming that their mission critical manufacturing equipment was Y2K compliant. A representative from Bergen Community College trained O’Sheas on how to inventory their mission critical system. They decided that their most critical system was there peripheral production equipment. This equipment consists the printing press, folders and collators.
By having the equipment checked, to see if it was Y2K compliant, O’Sheas retained 9 jobs. “By checking our equipment, we made sure that we didn’t loose any down time, which would of resulted in a loss of sales of approximately $20,000,” stated Kathleen Bracken, O’Sheas Printing Service’s General Manager.
