Safety Day 2 – Session 1: Hazard Communication Awareness (2 HR)

This course provides an educational overview of the hazards of working with chemicals and the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard. Topics include an introduction to GHS (Globally Harmonized Systems), how to read Safety Data Sheets (16-section SDS format), a real-time SDS research exercise, reading GHS container labels, NFPA 704 Diamond and HMIS, and a hands-on group activity to identify chemical hazards. Instructor provides all audio/visual equipment and a HazCom Student Safety Packet. Certificate of completion issued; required at initial hire and as needed.
