SUMMARY:NJ Recycled Content Law & Manufacturers – Critical Information\, Details\, and Next Steps
DESCRIPTION:On January 18th\, 2022 the NJ Recycled Content Law was signed which intends to stimulate recycling markets by requiring manufacturers to meet a minimum recycled content standard for regulated containers and packaging products sold or offered for sale in the State. \nThe law requires Manufacturers to register annually with the Department of Environmental Protection and also to register their “covered products”. Before December 31\, 2025 Manufacturers must not only register for calendar year 2025 but they must also submit their 2024 compliance status. \nGiven that this is the first compliance reporting since the law became effective in 2022\, NJMEP turned to our partners Porzio\, Bromberg & Newman to clarify identify responsibilities and obligations under the law. The experts from Porzio will walk manufacturers through the critical aspects of the law that will have a direct impact on their business. \nIn this quick information session\, you will receive an overview of the NJ Recycled Content Law\, walk away with an understanding of whether the law is applicable to your business and the important compliance deadlines coming up in 4th quarter of 2025. \nBe sure to join this conversation to get updated\, ask your questions\, and find out when and where you can turn to for support.

SUMMARY:Supervisory Skills Training in English - Virtual
DESCRIPTION:1/29\, 1/30\, 2/5\, 2/6/2026\nAbout Course: \nMoving into a position of authority means meeting new challenges\, taking on new responsibilities\, and mastering new skills. It may also mean learning to manage across cultural and language differences. New Managers can often be overwhelmed by new responsibilities and anxious about the transition from “coworker” to “boss.” \nWorkers who have recently become supervisors often worry about the way others will react to their new supervisor status … have concerns about keeping up with a tougher workload … and wonder how to handle the new tasks they will be faced with: hiring\, disciplinary action\, managing change\, even firing. \nA program to ease the transition …\nThis supervisory training course was specifically designed to address the needs of anyone who is new to managing others\, with a special focus on those managing in a multicultural workplace. The content of this course will provide a powerful new set of skills\, strategies\, and techniques for dealing with the issues you will encounter as you take on your new position and move forward in your career. \nYou will find out how to relate well to former peers who are now your subordinates\, and you’ll learn the communication skills that will help you handle these changing relationships in a way that’s comfortable for everyone. You’ll discover secrets for motivating and encouraging people to do their “personal best” for you\, and find out how to discipline firmly and fairly\, without creating resentment. This supervisory training will show you how to positively influence the behavior of your workers. \nIn this workshop you’ll learn: \n\nHow to communicate more effectively as a new supervisor\nWhen to be flexible\, and when to stand firm\nHow to build trust and gain respect\nStrategies for motivating others to achieve results\nThe truth about discipline — how to handle uncomfortable situations\nWhat every new supervisor and manager should know about hiring and firing\nTime management skills that really work\nAnd much\, much more!\n\n  \nPlease contact Kathleen Baldwin\, Sales Support Manager at NJMEP with any questions or need of further assistance.  kbaldwin@njmep.org  973-998-9801 ext. 211

SUMMARY:Lean Manufacturing - Introduction to Value Stream Mapping - North
DESCRIPTION:2/10/2026\nIn this course\, participants will receive an introduction to Value Stream Mapping and will apply the learned principles to a specified product family in the company. This course teaches participants how to gather the information required to eliminate all non-value adding waste and how to use the information to plan the implementation of Lean activities. Participants will learn the steps necessary for creating a current state value stream map from customer back to raw material and develop a future state vision to act as a blueprint for lean activities. \nThe future-state map created by the class will act as a blue print for additional lean manufacturing training and implementations. The impact to the company will be calculated after the implementation plan is created\, however it is anticipated that when implemented\, the plan will result in a significant reduction in lead times\, inventory\, and floor space\, and an increase in productivity.

SUMMARY:Food Safety - cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices)
DESCRIPTION:2/26/2026\nCurrent Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) Regulations is the process that ensures the quality of a product by establishing manufacturing procedures making certain that food is safe and has been prepared\, packed\, and stored under hygienic conditions. \nFood manufacturers must comply with cGMP’s through new regulations to be compliant with FSMA. \ncGMP’s are critical\, not only to FSMA\, but to every food safety and quality certification. \nThey are audited by third party food safety auditors and are considered prerequisites. \nThe training will cover the core requirements\, changes to former requirements and best practices on how to achieve compliance. Participants will learn how to handle FDA and third party Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspections. \nThe training will also outline how to interact effectively with investigators so that organizations can not only react to inspections\, but anticipate them as well.

SUMMARY:Lean Manufacturing - Introduction to Value Stream Mapping - North
DESCRIPTION:3/16/2026\nAbout Course: \nIn this course\, participants will receive an introduction to Value Stream Mapping and will apply the learned principles to a specified product family in the company.
