Ms. Brocaglia has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources, working with both Fortune 500 companies and small to mid-sized start-ups. She focuses on remodeling a company’s structure, utilizing a combined focus of compliance, recruitment and retention, operations and training methodologies. Throughout her career in Human Resources, Sue has made a name for herself as a problem solver – providing guidance to organizations that need to fix their basic structure and laying the foundation for their company to grow.
Sue’s approach involves two key ingredients: implementing practical solutions to fix problems and thinking ahead to develop a solid structure that will see a company into the future. The first thing Sue tackles when she begins working with a new company is compliance. She surveys every aspect of the HR function to ensure that the organization is compliant. Once everything from pay practices to job analysis are up to code, Sue can move on with peace of mind, knowing that no regulatory agencies will come knocking. Sue has a knack for identifying talent, both internally and externally, and knowing the right position for them to shine. From an operational perspective, Sue surveys key processes and determines how to better suit the company as it grows. The third component, training, is possibly the most satisfying one for Sue. Providing guidance post-training and watching employees’ behavior change due to a particular training session is very gratifying for her.
In addition to solving existing problems, Sue’s strategies lay the groundwork for a company to grow. She thinks three to five years ahead of the workforce itself, implementing a forward-thinking approach to HR and technology for your workplace. Sue believes a strategic approach to automation, determining what to automate and knowing when it is simply over automation, is one of the keys to setting up a company for growth. The other is predicting how the future workplace will look.
Sue began her career at Allied Signal and went on to work at Bristol Meyers and EF Hutton, honing her HR skills. In 1989, Sue joined ILX Systems, a division of Thomson Financial, as the 28th employee and was instrumental in its growth. Sue has also worked as Vice President & Director of Human Resources for Cantor Fitzgerald, Publicis Healthcare Communications Group, and, most recently as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Medical Knowledge Group.
