“NJMEP assisted us with implementing Lean manufacturing methods to improve our processes and productivity. As a small manufacturing company, we find it vital for us to stay competitive in today’s global market. The training provided by NJMEP helped us retain our current employee count while increasing our business.” –Michael Seital, Operations Officer, Norwalt Design, Inc.
Generally, smaller manufacturing firms, defined as organizations with 30 or fewer employees, are as much in need of process improvement services and programs to strengthen their business as those of larger firms.
However, history has shown that being able to take advantage of these offerings has proven difficult. Overall program costs have been too expensive and time spent “Off-the-Production-Floor” to meet these requirements, by both owners and employees, have proven to be unrealistic.
Enter the Small Business Lean Program
Capitalizing on many of the field-tested services and programs already implemented at hundreds of businesses across the State, Small Business Lean utilizes a combination of in-person consultations and online training courses to provide the following offerings at a very reasonable cost:
- A Lean Awareness and Practitioner Program
- Targeted Process Mapping and Training
- Targeted Kaizen (Process Improvement) Training culminating in a Targeted Kaizen Event
The Small Business Lean Program can be completed in as little as eight-weeks and the course structure has been designed to enable participants to complete course materials online when it is convenient for them to do so.
