This class informs theory, practice, and strategies for implementing change in organizations. This class features a guided presentation that includes exercises and discussion.
Participants will:
• Identify change as a process
• Understand the intellectual and emotional components of change
• Learn about change management strategies and interventions
• Learning how to apply the Law of Diffusion of Innovation
• Learn how behavioral styles affect and influence organizational change
• Be able to adapt strategies to implement change
• Be able to reduce unfavorable consequences of organizational change
Topics Include
• Organizational Change is inevitable
• Change and its interaction with Individual behavior
• Teaming up to conduct or repel change – Group tendencies amidst change
• Change and its relationships to Organizational Culture
• Interventions and strategies to conduct Organizational Change
• Resistance, Support, and Coping with change
• Key principles for leading change initiatives
Participants will be expected to:
• Recognize how their own attitudes and actions impact on others
• Find new and effective techniques for managing negative emotions
• Develop coping strategies for dealing with difficult people and difficult situations
• Identify those times when they have the right to walk away from a difficult situation
