Pre-Apprenticeship Foundational Credentials (MSSC)
Through a partnership with NJMEP and the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC), both entry level and incumbent workers have the ability to be certified as a Certified Production Technician (CPT) or Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) through the completion of approved coursework and training.
Participants who complete the certifications will be educated in manufacturing processes and production, safety, quality, and maintenance among other important subject areas needed for success in the technology-intensive industry. Implementing these certification programs will not only increase New Jersey’s pipeline of skilled workers, it will also reduce the need for companies to provide on-the-job remedial training.
A combination of blended learning led by certified instructors allows participants to develop high performance Transportation, Logistics and Distribution skills through:
- Lectures
- Self-paced studies
- Computer-based simulation labs
- Presentations
- Individual/group activities
Certified Production Technician (CPT)
The CPT Certification addresses the core technical competencies of higher skilled production workers in all sectors of manufacturing. MSSC awards certificates to individuals who pass any of its Production Modules:
- Safety
- Quality Practices & Management
- Manufacturing Processes & Production
- Maintenance Awareness
- Green Production
A full Certified Production Technician (CPT) Certification is given to those who pass all four original modules (at this time, Green Production is not a requirement for full CPT Certification).
Certified Logistics Technician (CLT)
The CLT Certification address the core technical competencies of higher skilled, front line material handling and distribution workers in all supply chain facilities, from factories to warehouses, distribution centers and transporters. MSSC awards the foundational level Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) certificate and the mid level Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) certification. CLA is a prerequisite for CLT.
ISO Accreditation
The CPT and CLT certificates are both accredited under ANSI-ISO 17024 (Personnel Certification) making it the only national certification body globally with this designation for manufacturing and logistics.
MSSC
The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) is an industry led, and federally recognized training, assessment and certification system focused on the skills and knowledge needed by today’s manufacturing workforce. MSSC’s CPT and CLT Certificates are recognized as the gold standard for front-line industrial training. Employers value the MSSC credentials as they recruit skilled workers with proven knowledge and abilities to contribute to the company’s productivity and competitiveness in global markets. MSSC is endorsed by the National Association of Manufacturers and the Department of Defense.
