Leveraging the core functions of NJMEP, the model creates opportunities to more effectively monitor employer demand and offer students, incumbents, and dislocated workers the skills they need to become a standard of excellence within their sector. Employers can use the program to find new workers and up-skill their current workforce. Learn more about all the different opportunities and pathways, below.

We’ve been hearing from companies for quite some time now that they are having problems finding qualified individuals. Many companies indicate that they aren’t sure how to fix the skills gap within their organization and that there are four main skills gaps in today’s workforce:

  • Lack of individuals with basic skills for employment, such as teamwork and problem solving
  • Aging workforce
  • Lack of workers who have the specialized skills
  • Lack of applicants with STEM skills
