New Jersey Manufacturers Rally at the State Capitol for the 2025 State-of-the-State of Manufacturing
Industry Stands United to Protect NJMEP and Reaffirm Manufacturing as a State Priority
TRENTON, NJ., – With state support for manufacturing services in flux, hundreds of manufacturers, legislators, and industry partners gathered at the New Jersey State Capitol and Coopers Riverview on May 22 to participate in one of the most impactful State-of-the-State of Manufacturing events in NJMEP’s history.

This annual event—co-hosted by the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) and the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP)—offered a critical platform for manufacturers to meet face-to-face with policymakers and advocate for continued investment in the state’s industrial backbone.

Attendees took part in a full day of programming that included a Legislative Manufacturing Caucus hearing led by Senators Linda Greenstein and Mike Testa, committee briefings, and direct conversations with elected officials.
The event was made possible through the Manufacturing Counts partnership between NJMEP and NJBIA, two organizations united by the shared goal of supporting and strengthening the state’s manufacturing ecosystem.

Why This Year Mattered Most
This year’s State-of-the-State of Manufacturing wasn’t just symbolic—it was essential. Without renewed state support, NJMEP’s ability to provide training, consulting, and workforce development services could be significantly limited. The event underscored the urgency of preserving this resource and protecting the nearly 11,000 manufacturers NJMEP serves across the state.
About NJMEP: NJMEP helps to improve the profitability and competitiveness of small to medium-sized manufacturers in New Jersey. Backed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), NJMEP enables organizations to enhance their productivity and efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve employee performance. For more than 20 years, NJMEP has used its extensive network of connections and proven track record of success to help manufacturers adapt to the latest innovative technologies and best practices to realize nearly $8 billion in value.
