Overview of Lean Operations

About Course:

Manufacturers need to continuously improve their processes and systems in order to produce high quality products and parts efficiently and profitably. Achieving operational excellence helps manufacturers increase customer satisfaction while saving time and money.

This complimentary two-hour introduction to Lean Manufacturing workshop will be facilitated by an NJMEP Lean Expert. Participants will gain an understanding of the eight wastes in manufacturing and learn how to improve productivity by applying standard work, visual controls, set-up reduction, batch size reduction, point-of-use storage, quality at the source, pull systems and more.

Session Objectives

Understand:

• The environment that is driving companies to implement “Lean”.
• Understand the basic Lean Manufacturing Principles
• How the application of these Lean Principles can impact an operation.
• The Path Forward.
